Each of Wisconsin's 22 private, nonprofit colleges and universities offers its own unique experience and advantages. On the whole, some of the benefits include:
- Smaller class sizes. The average class size is 16 students, and most are taught by professors rather than teaching assistants.
- Hands-on learning. You'll have the opportunity to get involved in academics and campus activities in ways you may not at other universities.
- Availability of scholarships and grants. Ninety-five percent of all undergraduate students receive financial aid, and about three-quarters of the average financial aid package is scholarship and grant aid that does not need to be paid back (as opposed to loans).
- Affordability. Don't be scared off by a sticker price: the average out-of-pocket tuition is less than $4,240 after financial aid.
