WAICU-WTCS Course Credit Transfer Agreement (CCTA)

To assist students in pursuing their academic and career goals, the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) has developed a course-to-course agreement with the 16 Wisconsin Technical Colleges. This will ensure a smooth transfer process for Wisconsin Technical College students who wish to continue their education at a participating Wisconsin private, nonprofit college or university.

The following private colleges and universities currently participate in this agreement:

Alverno College
Bellin College
Carroll University
Carthage College
Concordia University Wisconsin
Edgewood College
Herzing University
Lakeland University
Marian University
Marquette University
Milwaukee School of Engineering
Mount Mary University
Northland College
St. Norbert College
Viterbo University
Wisconsin Lutheran College

Private college and university participants must accept the WTCS courses for direct transfer credit, when offered, not elective credit. If the private college or university’s curriculum does not offer a WTCS course listed in the agreement, that course may transfer in as an elective. Information on specific course exceptions can be found here. The courses will satisfy general education or general degree requirements when applicable. In some cases, the course will transfer to a specific major. Students are responsible for confirming that these courses transfer to their intended major.

WAICU-WTCS Course Credit Transfer Agreement Notes and Exceptions

In some cases, exceptions to direct transfer credit or course substitutions may exist at a participating WAICU-member college or university due to individual college and university requirements.

Either WTCS course Written Communication 801-195 *OR* English Composition I 801-136 will be accepted by WAICU-member participants. Bellin College will accept WTCS course Technical Reporting 801-197 in place of either of these two courses. Given their curriculum, Carthage College accepts all courses in the agreement with the exception of WTCS Written Communication or English Composition I. St. Norbert College will accept either course; WTCS students must have a grade of B or better. WTCS students are responsible for confirming this information with the appropriate WAICU-member transfer liaison.

Bellin College: Given the institution’s specialized curriculum, the WTCS courses Introduction to American Government (809-122), Introduction to Sociology (809-196) and Abnormal Psychology (809-154) meet a Social Science Requirement that is accepted as direct transfer credit in the following Bellin College programs: Nursing, Radiologic Science, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and Radiation Therapy.
