Student Voter Registration Information
During an election year, institutions must share information with students on registering to vote.
The Higher Education Act (HEA) requires institutions that receive federal funding make a best faith effort to share voter registration information prior to registration deadlines for presidential and gubernatorial elections.
Our national partner, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, has developed helpful resources known as Your Vote Your Voice. This website has a summary of HEA requirements, a list of trusted voter and elections related resources, a link to a nonpartisan voter registration portal, and a comprehensive briefing memo on student voting by the American Council on Education.
