WAICU Benefits Consortium 2025 Rates Beat the Trend
The seven member institutions in the WAICU Benefits Consortium (WBC) approved a 5 percent increase in medical and pharmacy coverage.
This increase is favorable compared to the 9 percent that was projected earlier this year, and the 7 percent industry trend currently observed by the plan’s actuaries.
The ten-year average premium increase for WBC has only been 3.8 percent.
The WBC helps WAICU institutions offer enhanced benefits at lower costs than they could achieve on their own. In this jointly administered self-funded plan, each WBC member institution is responsible for its own claims and administrative expenses, but claims are rated in aggregate, offering rate stability over time.
The WAICU Benefits Consortium (WBC) offers five benefit plans and members may offer up to four:
- Gold ($0 deductible)
- Silver ($100 deductible)
- Bronze ($1,000 deductible)
- High Deductible ($2,000 deductible)
- HSA-Qualified ($3,300 deductible)
The WBC grows stronger with each institution that joins. To learn more about WBC visit the website or arrange a benefits and rate analysis by emailing WAICU Benefits Consortium Executive Director Shane Kellar or WAICU Chief Operating Officer Jennifer deHart.
