Not everyone can be so lucky, but for Micah Fritz, a 2016 Concordia University Wisconsin grad, a lifelong dream has come true.CUW alum wins Jeopardy! this year.

Micah Fritz, a proud Concordia University Wisconsin alumnus, fulfilled a longtime goal this year by appearing as a contestant on the beloved quiz show Jeopardy! and won—a dream he had been pursuing for sixteen years.

His journey to the iconic game show stage involved years of dedication, including taking online tests and participating in virtual auditions, before being selected as a contestant in late 2024 and traveling to California in April for filming. The episodes aired in late June, where Micah appeared in two consecutive shows and earned the title of Jeopardy Champion in his very first episode.

Micah graduated from Concordia in 2016 as a double major in education and history. He went on to teach government, social studies, and personal finance at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, a non-profit public charter school in Milwaukee County.

Reflecting on Micah’s time at Concordia, Dr. James Pingel, dean of the School of Education, shared, “Micah was always one of the smartest and most intelligent students in the room or class, but he never acted that way. He’s kind, affable, engaging, and truly passionate about history.”

While on campus, Micah was an active member of the Concordia University Wisconsin community, participating in Campus Ministry, Student Government, and Cross Country. His connection to Concordia runs deep, as he has several family members who are alumni or current students.
