Staff Spotlight: Kathy Paul, Senior Project Administrator

Kathy Paul, WAICU Senior Project Administrator, celebrates her tenth year at WAICU this month, August 2025.

This August, we shine the spotlight on Kathy Paul to celebrate her ten-year anniversary at WAICU, including two impactful years in her current role as Senior Project Administrator.

Kathy plays a vital role in advancing WAICU’s mission by guiding initiatives that:

  • Improve student transfer pathways
  • Strengthen retention and persistence
  • Support legislative policies benefiting WAICU-member institutions

Her work spans diverse projects—from professional development workshops to cross-sector collaboration. She facilitated the recent WAICU Student Belonging and Success Summit held at Alverno College on July 17. This one-day event welcomed more than 100 WAICU-member staff and featured four inspiring speakers focused on student success.

As a member of the WAICU External Relations team, Kathy works with other higher education sectors in Wisconsin on initiatives such as the WAICU-WTCS Course Credit Transfer Agreement.

She also co-organizes the annual WAICU Statewide Collaborative Transfer Meeting, which will be held on October 14, in collaboration with the Universities of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Technical College System, and the state’s tribal colleges. Now in its sixth year, this annual conference brings together professionals for presentations, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and sector-specific sessions for those who work with transfer at their Wisconsin college or university.

“I’m proud to support WAICU-member colleges and universities that provide quality educational experiences helping thousands of students achieve their goals,” Kathy said.

“A college education can open countless doors to personal growth, career advancement, and lifelong learning,” she added. “In Wisconsin, our private colleges and universities offer a rich array of opportunities that are accessible to students from all income levels and backgrounds.”

“I’m privileged to be part of this effort to support the WAICU mission of advancing educational opportunity for all.”

Kathy received her bachelor’s degree from Carleton College in Minnesota and her master’s degree from Lesley University in Massachusetts. Outside of work, she finds joy in family and friends, nature, and visual art.
