State and Local Officials Visit WAICU-Member Campuses This Fall
Carroll University and Mount Mary University recently hosted the first of several roundtable visits with state and local officials at our Wisconsin private colleges.
These visits showcase the excellent educational opportunities that private, nonprofit colleges and universities offer students. The visits also illustrate the many benefits that our independent campuses and graduates provide to the State of Wisconsin.
State and local officials and their staff visited Carroll University on Friday, September 23, and Mount Mary University on Monday, September 30.
Participants received campus tours and participated in roundtable discussions about degrees that meet current and emerging market demands and ways graduates contribute to the state’s workforce. State and local officials also heard the rationale for a state budget request to increase Wisconsin Grant Program funding to support low-income students at WAICU institutions.
In addition, state and local officials heard compelling stories about the importance of Wisconsin’s private colleges from student leaders, university trustees, and businesses that employ graduates from these institutions.
More visits are scheduled for October and will be profiled in the November edition of WAICU WISE.
