Alumna Changing the World One First Grader at a Time!
A 2009 graduate of Alverno College, Amy Oliden has taught first graders for more than fifteen years at St. Matthew Catholic School in Milwaukee. She credits Alverno College for being pivotal in shaping her career and her calling as an educator.
“Alverno was more than a college to me. It was a nurturing community that empowered me to grow into the person I needed to be, not just professionally but personally.” Reflecting on college to career, Oliden added, “It’s a unique journey—one that has brought me full circle from student to educator within a community that has always felt like home.”
Oliden is now dedicated to helping fellow teachers grow and thrive. “At Alverno, my professors were not only educators, but also mentors who guided me with patience and wisdom, a gift I strove to pass on to those who wish to enter this profession.”
