Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I order my transcript?

A: All transcripts must be ordered through the National Student Clearinghouse portal at studentclearinghouse.org. This is the only method available to order transcripts or education verifications. To protect the information of our students and to prevent identity theft, we can never process transcript requests by email or over phone.

Q: The transcript I received has incorrect information. Can WAICU correct or update information on my transcript?

A: No. Transcripts were produced prior to the closing of the institution and captured at that moment in time. WAICU does not have the authority to edit them in any way, including name changes, correction of errors, or to fill missing information. This policy applies even if name, address, social security number, date conferred, etc., are missing or inaccurate. Federal law prohibits tampering with or altering official academic records.

Q: Is WAICU a custodian of diplomas, certificates, course catalogs, or other institutional records?

A: No. WAICU maintains only academic transcripts, and does not store or manage diplomas, certificates, visa records, or other student information.

Q: I am applying for professional licensing and need to have my credentials verified. Can WAICU analyze my academic record?

A: No, WAICU is only the custodian of records and makes no judgment as to the validity, content, or rigor of any course or program represented in the documents.  If you need a teaching license or have questions about professional licensing, contact the  Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

Q: What happens if I cancel my transcript order?

A: The National Student Clearinghouse will refund your fee if the transcript has not yet been processed and sent.
