Marian University Nursing Program Ranked #1 in Wisconsin and the Nation

Marian University’s number one nursing program ranking reflects the outcomes of every Marian graduate who took the NCLEX-RN during the reporting period, each successfully passing on their first attempt.

Marian University of Wisconsin’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program has earned national distinction after achieving a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the 2024–2025 NCLEX-RN licensure exam.

According to recently released data, Marian ranked first among 46 nursing programs in Wisconsin, first among 1,177 BSN programs nationwide, and first among 2,305 nursing programs of all types across the United States and its territories.

The ranking reflects the outcomes of every Marian graduate who took the NCLEX-RN during the reporting period, each successfully passing on their first attempt. University leaders say this accomplishment is the result of years of focused program development and a deeply supportive learning environment.

“This achievement speaks to the extraordinary dedication of our students and the exceptional commitment of our faculty,” said Dr. Cheryl Seelig, associate dean of nursing and chief nursing officer. “Preparing work-ready nurses who provide compassionate, evidence-based care is core to our mission. These results affirm the strength and quality of a Marian nursing education.”

While Marian has long maintained NCLEX pass rates that exceed state and national averages, this year’s performance marks a historic milestone. The program attributes its success to ongoing curriculum innovation, high-impact clinical partnerships, strong academic support services, and faculty who are deeply engaged in student learning.

Most Marian nursing graduates apply for licensure in Wisconsin, making the program a key contributor to the state’s healthcare workforce at a time of growing demand for qualified nurses. University leaders believe this ranking reinforces Marian’s role as a leader in preparing practice-ready professionals who are equipped to excel in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

Marian also offers graduate-level nursing programs.
