St. Norbert College Students Uncover Historic Packers Ties Ahead of NFL Draft

This semester, ten SNC students are working alongside faculty and staff to research the college’s deep-rooted connection to the Packers.

As the NFL Draft approaches in Green Bay, St. Norbert College (SNC) students are stepping into the spotlight through a unique internship that explores SNC’s storied history with the Green Bay Packers.

This semester, ten SNC students are working alongside faculty and staff to research the college’s deep-rooted connection to the Packers—from Vince Lombardi’s friendship with Father Dennis Burke to the SNC alum who designed the team’s iconic ‘G’ logo and much more! Then, during Draft Week at the end of April, these students will lead exclusive tours, sharing their discoveries with the public.

SNC Executive Director of Academic Advising and Career Development Meghan Walsh said she is giving students full ownership of the opportunity.

“This internship is interdisciplinary. Students with communication, business, history, and other majors are designing and leading a campus tour that focuses on the special history and relationship between the Packers and SNC,” Walsh emphasized. “The students are in charge, taking control, doing great work.”

Beyond uncovering history, students are gaining valuable professional skills such as meeting deadlines, collaborating as a team, and creating content for media platforms—experience that will stand out on their résumés.

As Titletown prepares to host one of the biggest events in pro football, SNC students are stepping up to showcase the college’s deep-rooted connection to the Packers. Through this hands-on experience, they’re preserving history and gaining real-world skills that will serve them well beyond Draft Week.
