WAICU’s Nonprofit Internship Program Returns This Summer

Carthage College student Madelyn L. interned at the Manitowoc Historical Society through the Wisconsin’s Private Colleges – WAICU Nonprofit Internship Program last summer. Madelyn is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in history and minor in education, with a graduation date of spring of 2025.
Sixteen internship positions will be offered this summer to WAICU-member undergraduate students through the WAICU Nonprofit Internship Program, thanks to the generosity of two Wisconsin foundations.
Students attending WAICU-member institutions who have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average are eligible for the program. All majors are welcome to apply. Student interns receive a $4,000 summer stipend and a $6,000 scholarship in exchange for 400 hours of work over ten summer weeks at a designated nonprofit organization in Jefferson, Milwaukee, Manitowoc, and Rock counties.
Interns learn about the nonprofit sector, gain professional experience, and work on diverse projects supporting the host organization’s mission. Please share these opportunities with students on your campus.
